Supervisor-Reprocessing Services

Location: St. Paul Campus - 200 University

Hours: Full Time Supervisor Position; Mondays-Fridays, flexible start times between 6:00am-9:00am 

Position Summary:

Oversees the highest quality of care is delivered for decontamination and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment in accordance with department and infection control policies. Works collaboratively with Surgery Supply Chain Coordinator to ensure par levels of key equipment are consistently maintained, tracked and available. The Supervisor is responsible for the successful evaluation of the Reprocessing department which includes, but not limited to, performance appraisals, skill assessments, and ongoing competency training.

Specific duties are determined by the work setting or patient population served; however, in all positions, serving patients with challenging and complex conditions requires a concentration of specialized staff able to work in highly coordinated teams. We organize care around each patient’s condition which requires staff at multiple levels and across many departments to exhibit exceptional teamwork qualities including communicating efficiently and effectively and adopting the behaviors required for high functioning integrated teams, consistent with our Gillette CARES expectations.



  • At least two years of prior experience as a central services (sterile processing) technician or surgical services background
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to effectively communicate
  • Ability to work well with children and adults; interest in working with children and adolescents with disabilities
  • Physically able to work hours required and transport patients, lift heavy instrument sets
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge of the principles of decontamination/sterilization


  • Certification as a central services (sterile processing) technician
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in related healthcare field
  • Previous supervisory experience in a healthcare environment
