Physical Therapist I - Motion Analysis

Location: St. Paul - 205 University

Hours: 1.0 FTE (40 hrs/week) Monday/Wednesday/Friday 7:30 am-4:00 pm and Tuesday/Thursday 8:30 am-5:00 pm

Primary Responsibilities
​This position provides clinical expertise for direction and accomplishment of data acquisition, interpretation, and report generation for individuals undergoing motion analysis procedures. Promotes continuity of care between Motion Analysis Lab and other hospital departments.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors, masters, or doctorate degree in physical therapy
Registration by Board of Physical Therapy for practice in the State of Minnesota
Excellent customer service skills
Knowledge of pathokinesiology and walking disorders in patients with musculoskeletal and neuromuscular diagnosis

Preferred Qualifications:
At least two years of experience in physical therapy treatment of neuromuscular or orthopaedic disorders (pediatrics preferred)
Demonstrated ability to perform and interpret results of kinematic, kinetic, fine wire EMG, surface EMG, physical assessment and other areas pertinent to gait analysis

Position Summary:

Provides clinical expertise for direction and accomplishment of data acquisition, interpretation, and report generation for individuals undergoing motion analysis procedures. Promotes continuity of care between Motion Analysis Lab and other hospital departments.

Specific duties are determined by the work setting or patient population served; however, in all positions, serving patients with challenging and complex conditions requires a concentration of specialized staff able to work in highly coordinated teams. We organize care around each patient’s condition which requires staff at multiple levels and across many departments to exhibit exceptional teamwork qualities including communicating efficiently and effectively and adopting the behaviors required for high functioning integrated teams, consistent with our Gillette CARES expectations.

Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Bachelors, masters, or doctorate degree in physical therapy 
  • Registration by Board of Physical Therapy for practice in the State of Minnesota 
  • Excellent customer service skills 
  • Knowledge of pathokinesiology and walking disorders in patients with musculoskeletal and neuromuscular diagnosis 
  • Effective written and verbal communication 
  • Ability to function as a team member and independently 
  • Ability to communicate and establish rapport with children and their families 
  • Ability to facilitate cooperation with challenging patients for test completion and manage behavioral factors 
  • Good critical thinking skills

Preferred:
