Guest Services Specialist

Location: St. Paul Campus - 200 University

Hours: The Guest Services Specialist supports the Gillette patient, family and guest experience by serving as a resource for families, guests and staff by connecting them to a range of non-medical services, amenities and ensuring satisfaction with their Gillette experience. This role identifies process improvement initiatives to improve guest and family experience, assists with organization-wide patient satisfaction surveys, welcomes & educates new patients and families to Gillette and manages the Caring for the Caregiver evening program. QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma required, Bachelor's degree preferred. 2 years experience in a healthcare environment, strong communication and problem solving skills, excellent computer skills, and high degree of professionalism, friendliness, courtesy and respect. Bilingual preferred. Knowledge of HCAHPS & other patient experience survey metrics preferred. SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 8:00-4:30, must be flexible to work some hours in the evening as needed

Position Summary:

 This position supports the Gillette patient, family and guest experience by serving as a resource for families, guests and staff to fulfill their needs, connecting them to a range of non-medical services, amenities, and information that can support effective healing and ensure satisfaction with their Gillette experience. Serves as a visible and enthusiastic champion in providing excellent guest and family experience. Teams with Guest Services Desk staff to provide exceptional customer service and guest experience. 

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Previous experience in healthcare environment -- 2 year minimum
  • Effective communication and strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Self-starter, self-motivated, ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Highest degree of professionalism, friendliness, helpfulness, courtesy and respect for patients, guests and co-workers
  • Ability to work effectively in pressured situations and demonstrates ability to diffuse escalating situations
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to build strong relationships and work in collaboration with inpatient and outpatient personnel to ensure the voice of the customer is heard and recognized

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Bilingual
  • Knowledge of HCAHPS and other patient experience survey metrics
  • Knowledge of The Joint Commission, Department of Health and other regulatory organizations regulations and compliance standards
