Executive Director, Gillette Children's Foundation

Location: River Park Plaza

Hours:  1.0 FTE (40 hrs/wk)

Position Summary:

The Foundation Manager/Executive Director provides leadership, vision, strategic and operational direction for Gillette Children’s Foundation. The Manager implements policy approved by Hospital Administration and the Foundation Board, manages fundraising and outreach operations, and represents the organization in the community. The Manager is ultimately responsible for developing and implementing strategies to diversify and increase philanthropic revenue sources to fund immediate and capital needs of Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare as well as build the net asset base of the Foundation.

The Manager must have solid knowledge of and experience with the principles and techniques of fundraising strategy; volunteer engagement and development; staff development and management; fiscal and organizational management. The Manager must also have excellent planning, directing, people, social and communication skills. A demonstrated history of successful cross-functional (cross-departmental) collaboration is vital. Additional skills include the ability to cultivate community and business leaders; to effectively team with Board members and hospital executives, and provide capable and effective direction and supervision of employees and volunteer staff..



• Bachelor’s Degree
• Minimum five years of related experience
• Experience with managing staff and prioritizing individual and team work
• Good interpersonal relationship skills
• Functional computer skills with word-processing and database management
• Good presentation (both verbal and written) and public speaking skills
• Proven qualities of self-initiative and self-motivation
• Competent problem solving, analytical and organizational skills
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive own car for appointments, meetings, events, etc.
