Electroneurodiagnostic Monitoring Technician

Location: St. Paul Campus - 200 University

Hours: .6 FTE / 48 hours per pay period, Night shifts: 11 p.m. - 7 a.m. Alternating Weekends. Day shifts for orientation/to train and then switch to night shifts.

Position Summary:

The Electroneurodiagnostic Monitoring Technician (NMT) works independently and assists the Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist with direct patient care, stocking and inventory control, and cleaning and maintenance of equipment. This position works under the direction of the Supervisor.

  • Ability to work well with co-workers and patients of all ages and disabilities.
  • Analytical and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Able to operate various office equipment, including a computer, fax machine, printer.
  • Ability to quickly assess and respond to emergency situations.
  • Ability to explain procedures to patient and family members.
  • Good hand dexterity and spatial relations.
  • Work nights and weekends


  • Enrolled in an accredited clinical Neurodiagnostic Tech. Program, or have completed an accredited CNT program and waiting to complete the National Registration (ABRET) for EEG.
  • Knowledge and theory to EEG procedures and equipment.
  • Special training with resultant expertise in recognition of clinical ictal behavior and¬†interaction with patients during seizures.
  • Medical background with direct patient care for pediatrics and special needs patients.
