For more than 50 years, St. David’s Center has provided the highest quality of early childhood education to typically developing children and children with special needs ages 16 months - five years.

St. David’s Center is now hiring an Early Childhood Education Paraprofessional to assist classroom teachers in planning and implementing a meaningful and effective daily program for individual children.
Responsibilities include:
  • Adapt the planned curriculum to the needs of the children to which you have been assigned. Ensure the successful integration of the child to which you have been assigned into the overall classroom curriculum and program.
  • Promoting emotional growth in the child, assisting the child in integrating within the classroom and following through on therapy goals
  • Encourage the children’s participation in the classroom activities through positioning, transporting, utilizing adaptive equipment and promoting independence.
  • Discuss consistent messages to be communicated to parents with the Respite Teacher, Manager of Early Childhood Special Needs Services, ECE Supervisor and any other pertinent team member

Schedule: 20-30 hours, M-F.
Pay: DOQ. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least six months experience in early childhood education and/or working with children with special needs
  • Some knowledge of child development, children with special needs, early childhood education, social and emotional development
  • Excellent communication skills with children, parents and staff members
  • Ability to take direction and work as a team member
  • Coursework in early childhood education
