Business Development Communication Specialist

Associated Benefits and Risk Consulting is seeking a talented full-time business development and sales support specialist to work with sales leadership and serve as liaison to Associated Bank’s corporate marketing team. You will use critical thinking and strong communication skills, to identify needs, develop differentiating value stories and develop copy to support the development of; : sales collateral, presentations, , e-learning modules, video presentation scripts and digital media. You will be a key member of the business development team, working in a deadline-driven environment to craft messaging that will strengthen our brand.

The ideal candidate must be able to think conceptually, provide quick creative solutions, take charge of multiple projects and write compelling copy that is backed by sound strategy.


  • Develop messaging for a variety of B2B audiences and can think visually to convey ideas.
  • Work collaboratively with the digital marketing team to implement social media and lead generation strategies and interpret data analysis to drive future initiatives..
  • Assist with updating and the ongoing maintenance of our website.
  • Manage project schedules and/or approval process for sales collateral and other electronic communication in collaboration with project manager, graphic designer and subject matter experts.
  • Provide event planning support for events that demonstrate our thought leadership.
  • Sustain high-level of expertise by attending classes and seminars to stay ahead of business development trends.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Marketing or related field.
  • At least 2-4 years of business to business promotional and digital media content creation.
  • Excellent project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfort throughout all phases of a project, from translating verbal ideas into design concepts through execution with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient user of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to think strategically and explain, in writing, complex concepts in a simple, concise and easy to understand manner.
  • Ability to utilize proper grammar, spelling and proofreading skills to edit documents as needed.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment that places an emphasis on teamwork and collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently to achieve deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of employee benefits, insurance or financial services industries. Experience developing interactive training content using blended, adult learning principles/methodologies.
