Job Summary

Come join a mission-driven team in the Managed Care Systems unit and contribute to protecting, maintaining, and improving the health of all Minnesotans. This position works independently to provide administrative support, which includes scheduling, purchasing, making travel arrangements, updating the Managed Care Systems website, and scheduling quality assurance exams.

Primary responsibilities include:
  • Providing administrative support to a team of up to 15 people.
  • Processing written and electronic correspondence related to Essential Community Providers, investigations, complaints, and other health maintenance organization regulations.
  • Managing incoming mail by processing checks and complaints received and distributing the remaining mail as needed.
  • Maintaining the Managed Care Systems web pages by updating content, troubleshooting coding errors, and ensuring accuracy and consistency with MDH guidelines.
  • Serve as back-up customer service for incoming calls, referring callers to the appropriate resource to meet their needs.

This is a hybrid telework position that requires in-office work in the downtown St. Paul location at least once per week. Telework will be based on the business needs of the unit and is at supervisory discretion.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Skill in customer service sufficient to provide prompt and accurate information to customers in person, on the phone, and through email and other written or electronic correspondence and respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and/or complaints.
  • Skill in website publishing sufficient to organize various content and web pages.
  • Skill in word processing sufficient to use software, such as Microsoft Word, to prepare, edit, and finalize emails, memos, reports, and/or other documents and types of written communication that are grammatically correct, in proper format, and free of spelling errors.
  • Skill in using spreadsheet applications, such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, to enter, compile, store, and retrieve data.
  • Skill in word processing sufficient to use software, such as Microsoft PowerPoint, to create, format, and edit presentations.

Minimum qualifications that will be assessed during the interview process:
  • Knowledge of communications sufficient to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Knowledge of building and uploading original content, documents, and/or webpages to websites.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of healthcare or health insurance
  • Experience in a health related program
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams), SharePoint, and Adobe Pro
  • Experience editing documents for accessibility compliance.
  • Ability to identify and address multiple priorities, work under pressure, and be flexible with changing priorities and frequent interruptions and meet deadlines.
  • Experience assisting staff who work in a variety of roles and content areas.
  • Experience in website publishing sufficient to organize various content and web pages.
