Job Summary

Join a mission-driven team in the Health Regulation Division and contribute to protecting, maintaining and improving the health of all Minnesotans. The Evaluation Supervisor will plan, organize, direct policies, procedures and activities related to evaluation of state licensed health care providers.

This will include supervising a group of evaluators responsible for the evaluation of state regulated providers, facilities, practitioners, and technicians. These evaluators perform inspections or surveys of a facility or provider to determine compliance with state licensing standards.

This position assesses the evaluations and documentation of findings completed by the evaluators. The supervisor is also responsible to identify program needs and recommend short and long-range goals to management in addition to implementing program quality initiatives to assure effective and efficient processes.

This position is based in the St. Paul office location and is eligible for telework with o ccasional travel to survey locations expected.

Reimbursement for authorized business travel expenses is provided according to bargaining unit guidelines.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Four (4) years of experience working in one of the following areas:
  • Conducting inspections/surveys/complaints of state licensed health facilities.
  • Health-related licensing board investigations and discipline processes.
  • Director of nursing, administrator, quality assurance review, program director, or similar role in a health care facility.

AND

Demonstrated leadership experience that may include:
  • Experience as a supervisor, lead-worker, team lead or project lead.
  • Completion of a State of Minnesota leadership program such as ELI, SLI or L4.
  • Completion of a similar or equivalent leadership development program through another organization.
  • A paid or unpaid position of at least one year leading a program or chairing a committee that includes identifying issues, goals, and strategic actions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior Supervisory experience.
  • Assisted Living and/or homecare experience.
  • Experience working through various competing priorities.
  • Clinical work experience in long-term care, working with individuals with developmental disabilities and individuals with mental illness.
  • Investigative experience, including comparing evidence obtained to applicable legal definitions.
