The Corporate Staff Account will work out of the Corporate Headquarters located in Bloomington, MN. 

In this role, you will take charge of preparing subsidiary financial statements, reconciling billing receipts, and managing company bank accounts. You will actively contribute to the success of the finance team by ensuring prompt and precise recording of organizational and subsidiary corporate financial activities. 

Hybrid work is offered, but some office time is required, so applicants must live in MN.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Enters data accurately into the general ledger for the Organization and various subsidiaries.
  • Prepares monthly financial statements for the subsidiaries by the 13th working day of the month.
  • Performs subsidiary billing and accounts receivable functions on a continual basis.
  • Reconciles subsidiary deposit slips to billing receipts entered on a daily basis.
  • Accurately and timely performs accounts payable function on a daily basis.
  • Reconciles all bank accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Assists in preparing work papers for external auditors. Gather audit evidence and submit to internal and external auditors
  • Works collaboratively with internal and external customers and resolves conflicts and maintains appropriate interactions with persons both within the organization and externally.
  • Analyze financial statements to support expense control and accurate reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) when applicable, and follows the Statutory Accounting Principles when applicable.
  • Streamline accounting processes to be more effective.
  • Participates in various department projects on an as needed basis.
  • Works with internal and external customers delivering excellent customer service during interactions which are done either by phone or email

What We'll Love About You 

  • Bachelor’s degree  preferred; in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree an Associates’ degree and applicable experience is acceptable. 
  • One or more years’ experience working in an accounting, banking, or finance related environment.
  • Basic knowledge of insurance accounting practices preferred.
  • Familiarity working with accounts payable functions preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office software applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Strong math and accounting skills with analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
  • Ability to work independently with strong organizational skills and multi-tasking capabilities.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be highly motivated with a high degree of initiative. Ability to digest, understand and analyze information from a variety of sources.
  • Sound independent judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrates positive teaming skills focused on team results.

Physical Requirements 

Work takes place in a semi paperless environment within an office setting, either on business premises or other remote location, using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers, which requires being stationary for extended periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, and maintain concentration and focus. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms and work with close vision. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Work is performed indoors with little to no exposure to extreme outdoor weather conditions. Regular attendance is required.
