Our Emergency Preparedness Coordinator will manage the programmatic review of emergency plan requirements for the Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant. Prairie Island’s two pressurized water reactors generate about 20 percent of the electricity used by Xcel Energy’s customers in the Upper Midwest. The plant is located on a 520-acre site about 40 miles southeast of Minneapolis-St. Paul and about five miles north of Red Wing, Minn. Nearly 800 people are employed full-time at the plant. On June 27, 2011, the NRC renewed for 20 years the plant’s original operating licenses, authorizing the Prairie Island units to continue generating electricity to 2033 and 2034.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Manage the programmatic review of emergency plan exercises and scenario development.

Qualifications

Required:
High school diploma and seven years of relevant commercial nuclear power plant experience, or Associates Degree and five years of relevant experience, or Bachelors degree and three years of relevant experience. Position Summary

This internship is an incredible opportunity to experience and learn the Right Of Way (ROW) industry from the ground up at Xcel Energy.
Primary responsibilities will be to research, inventory and classify SPS land rights records, including deeds, easements, licenses, permits and leases. These activities will support the next phase of LandWorks implementation. LandWorks is a new land records database management program. This will better position the company for developing new transmission powerlines in the Southwest Power Pool (SPP).

The successful candidate must be able to work part-time and on-site during the academic school year. The intern hired for this role will work full-time (40 hours a week) starting in May or June.
Prior or current Real Estate coursework and an interest in working in Real Estate is a plus. Some evening work and travel are involved for this role, the department will work with the successful candidate based on their academic schedule and availability. Willingness to travel throughout Texas Panhandle and eastern New Mexico to conduct research in county offices. This Coordinator must be able to effectively review, understand and interpret technical details related to PM program implementation, and convey details and instructions in writing at a level that other technically competent users could easily understand without additional assistance. Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant is a single unit boiling water reactor, located about three miles northwest of Monticello, MN, and 40 miles northwest of the Twin Cities on the banks of the Mississippi River.

Responsibilities:

- Maintain awareness of the status of outstanding PM's (overdue, late, rescheduled, or deferred) and take appropriate actions. Utilize standard reports to ensure PM's are appropriately scheduled. Identify any PM's that will challenge LATE dates prior to exceeding those dates. Develop additional ad-hoc reports as may be necessary to monitor status of PM's. Periodically review the status of Passport PM settings to ensure proper coding of the records. Process Preventive Maintenance Change Requests (PMCRs); this includes evaluation and implementation of PMCRs, establishing and verifying initial due date for new PM activities which are coordinated with similar work tasks and functional areas, tracking of the backlog and updating related KPIs. Process PM Cancellation Requests including reviewing cancel requests for adequacy and ensuring PM's are properly cancelled for credit or not for credit as appropriate based on conditions of cancellation.
- Participate in the PM Review Team (PMRT) and act as the alternate chair for this meeting. Review and verify historical PM task completion dates and next due date. Identify projected short falls in resources and any schedule conflicts.
- Maintain administrative control of the predefined database, Passport D080 family of panels for PREV, PRED, INSP, EQ, and some ADMIN tasks. Update Passport as necessary to implement required changes that impact the PM Program. Interface with IT personnel as necessary to address issues related to PM administration including development and testing of software and reports as required.
- Perform Corrective Action Program (CAP) investigations and corrective actions associated with PM program implementation.
- Act as the alternate for the On-line Manager as needed.
- Member of the station Emergency Response Organization (ERO).
- Outage organization responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications

Required:

- Associate Degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience.
- Five years experience in maintenance, work management, system engineering, maintenance planning, operations work management, or equivalent experience.
- Basic knowledge of nuclear plant systems and functional relationships (past RO/SRO certification or license desired).
- Must understand basic Primavera scheduling terms and functions including logic ties, resource levelization, and data date.
- Must understand and open correct project, search to find specific tasks, make changes to start and/or finish dates, logic ties, and other basic information associated with Primavera.

Assess schedule risks and determine at-risk work that will remain in the schedule, assures manager for at-risk work is named. Tracks work to completion. Assesses the nuclear safety risk of the schedule. Perform risk assessment and perform initial PRA risk management assessment in accordance with applicable site procedures.

• Approval of work activities. Manages scope, planning, scheduling, execution and critiquing of scheduled work. Conducts/Chairs Event Response Critiques and provides summaries to Management.

• Implement scheduled work weeks / outages. Acts as a single point of contact during the work period execution to help resolve delays with schedule Grade 'A' and Grade 'B' work items. Xcel Energy has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accounting/Financial Analyst in Denver, CO. You will be utilizing your accounting knowledge, as well as relying on your strong technical skills to write reports, work with Business Objects, and putting information into Excel. A majority of the job will be creating reports and using your analytical skills to analyze data. In addition, you will be interfacing with multiple business areas at Xcel to have them help review variances and provide explanations.

Summary

Perform general accounting processes to ensure accurate and timely accounting close cycles and the development of subsequent internal and external financial statements and reports. Processes may include, but are not limited to, budget development and reporting; analysis and reconciliation of accounting ledgers and other accounts; preparation of accounting ledger entries and supporting work-papers; preparation of inter-company billings; preparation of property valuations and preparation of required regulatory reporting forms and tax filings. May be responsible for training other analysts.

Responsibilities

- Collect and analyze financial data in order to perform some or all of the following accounting processes: budget development, reconciliation and variance reporting for assigned areas, reconcile assigned accounts, analyze financial data and prepare complex accounting ledger entries, prepare internal and external reports, settle inter-company receivables and payables, prepare property valuations. Identify and resolve data issues. Analyze financial data to identify adverse trends and recommend solutions to mitigate financial impact.
- Participate in and support accurate month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting close cycles and development of subsequent internal and external financial statements, required regulatory reporting forms and tax filings.
- Actively participate in or lead special projects as assigned. Projects may include but are not limited to: testing system upgrades or enhancements, rate case support, conducting financial analysis and developing special reports and process improvement initiatives.
- Provide timely and accurate assistance and consultation to clients within assigned business area. Assistance includes, but is not limited to: interpretation of account codes or financial reports, providing status reports on projects, work order issue resolution, etc. Prepare presentations, statistical reports, schedules and other information on operating results for management and outside parties. Consult with co-workers, clients and management on technical accounting or system related matters.
- May provide work direction and training to other analysts.
- Stay current with new or proposed local, state, federal rules and regulations and internal and external financial reporting requirements.

Qualifications

Required

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related business degree or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge
- 5 years general financial accounting and reporting experience with an emphasis on complex accounting issues, processes and multiple company accounting
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply GAAP
- Demonstrated knowledge of business and legal principles
- Demonstrated analytical and communication skills
- Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access

Preferred

- Knowledge of and experience working with JDEdwards highly desirable
- Knowledge of FERC accounts

Xcel Energy has an exciting opportunity for a System Analyst or Sr. System Analyst in Denver, CO. You will provide application support for Commodity XL for end users in the Commercial Operations Department.

Commodity XL experience is preferred.

Summary

Plans, manages, coordinates, implements and delivers information technology business solutions in a fast-paced environment. Provides technical guidance with fellow team members in accordance with business unit IT objectives. Provides tactical input to business unit management regarding systems development. Consults with business unit managers to identify requirements and coordinates with technical staff to fulfill those requirements.

Essential Responsibilities

- Provides technical guidance to development staff in conjunction with business area software products and instructs developers on technical decision points.

- Develops installation and rollout plans for Business Unit technologies and ensures plans are met. Interacts with clients to determine business requirements and project objectives. Identifies gaps and resolves. Presents system level solutions.

- Analyzes, plans, designs, develops, tests, implements, supports, and maintains information systems solutions using client server, n-tiered and web-based technology. Ensures that projects installed are effectively adding value to the business area.

- Provides project management of complex development efforts. Works with users to determine requirements of mission-critical systems. Leads and guides team members and monitors budgets and expenditures.

- Keep abreast of technology, industry and business trends to ensure that appropriate technologies are being considered in the planning process that meet organizational requirements.

- Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems or Computer Science (6 years of related experience may substitute for the degree)
- 7 years of enterprise wide system implementation related development experience
- In-depth knowledge of development technology as well as industry's business and operational software

- Ability to understand changes in technology in detail, and determine how best to source technology to meet the clients needs
